This April and May, Sydney’s late-night favourite, Goros, is undergoing a transformation into a neon-lit cherry blossom paradise. For six weeks, Cherry Bomb will transport guests straight to Tokyo’s buzzing streets, offering Instagram-worthy sakura moments, pink-hued cocktails, and Japanese street food delights—all wrapped up with free karaoke, DJs, and over-the-top games inspired by Takeshi’s Castle.

The exhibition sees Papou reclaim this dreamlike state once seen as a limitation, transforming it into a powerful space where imagination and identity seamlessly merge. Through vibrant, emotive works, she navigates the duality of her Greek and Native American heritage, no longer carrying it as a weight but soaring with it as a source of pride. The stories of her ancestors become part of her own, elevating her to a space where she exists freely—without the need for solid ground beneath her. In surrendering to the space between reality and imagination, Papou finds her truest self—not as someone lost in a dream, but as the main character in her own unfolding story
