Only an hour drive from Osaka Airport lies the stunning seaside location, Hidaka District. Known for it’s natural beauty, fresh seafood and Plums galore, this district is a hidden gem that has become a popular short stay vacation for domestic travellers.

What to do: Explore the Sandanbeki Caves

Two kilometres of of steep 50 meter high cliffs, this historical part of the country also includes an underground Cave Walk that showcases the crashing waves below and ancient battle sites up close.

The city of Kashihara, located in Nara Prefecture is filled with ancient traditions you can only find in rural Japan! Only a 40 minute drive from Osaka, there is also a train line delivering you into the centre of this city.

What to do: Visit Kashihara Jingu

This sacred site was built more than 200 years ago, mostly known for being dedicated to Japan’s first emperor, Emperor Jimmu this shrine has stunning architecture and gives guest a chance to immerse in the historical and cultural significance of this revered location. This can be visited with or without a tour but we recommend booking a guided experience to truly understand the importance of this location.
