We’ve gone from 30 degrees to what feels like minus 30 in a matter of days; winter is well and truly upon us. But the cold brings us those limitless opportunities to boot, coat, and layer up—a time of year I always look forward to.
One thing that doesn’t always go to plan though is my winter outfit prep. I always kick off the season with the best of intentions to buy that beautiful coat, those boots, and a considered series of long sleeve tops. But, I always seem to get to the end of the season never having actually taken that cart all the way to check out.
However, this year is different. Perhaps it’s our first winter back out and about which has me feeling all sorts of ready to shop or perhaps it’s this season’s multitude of trend-worthy must-haves, but either way I am shopping and shopping hard.
So, let’s start from the ground up shall we? Here are 3 winter shoe styles we’re going to absolutely need.
THE KNEE HIGH BOOT
I am no stranger to this boot style, but this winter we’re seeing an upgrade.
Level up your boot style to a square toe and be bold by introducing a new colour to your rotation in place of your season-on-season blacks.
Experiment with new shades of neutrals, army greens and even white for the bold. Shop some of my personal favourites below.

THE CHUNKY ANKLE BOOT
The chunky ankle boot for winter is arguably what bike shorts were to summer — polarising.
You either love them or hate them, but either way, this style has made a firm stance in today’s style must-haves.
Easy to spot with their notably chunky soles and higher than usual boot upper sitting comfortably above the ankle, this will be a hard-not-to-buy item this winter.

Off-White Zipped 1 Boots
If like me you’ve been eyeing this trend for a while, now is the time to add-to-cart on your favourite pair of loafers.
The loafer brings a polished vibe to any look — not to mention they’re also high on the comfort scale. This perennial favourite will never really go out of style and I am here for it.
