Founded by Dr Joseph Hkeik, one of Australia’s leading aesthetic doctors, and Lana Sayah, Practice Manager at All Saint Clinic (and Dr. Hkeik’s niece!), Lana Banana was born from a common frustration—parents asking, “What about my kids?” But while it started with Gen Alpha in mind, the brand’s ethos speaks to a wider audience: anyone looking to support their skin barrier without the confusion of multi-step routines.
To get the lowdown on the new line with the quippy name, we sat down with co-founder Lana Sayah to decode their skincare offering, and the truth behind their no-fuss formula.

What inspired you to develop a brand that strips away the unnecessary and prioritises smart formulations? How did your collaboration with Dr. Joseph Hkeik help bring this vision to life?
We created Lana Banana to cut through the noise of social media trends and overly complicated routines to bring smart, effective skincare to youth who just want real results without the fuss.
Partnering with my uncle, Dr. Joseph Hkeik of Saint Clinic Group, a leading aesthetic doctor with over 20 years of experience and a decade of us working together at All Saint Clinic we saw firsthand the gap in the market for youth-focused skincare. While we could provide our more mature clientele with many skincare options, younger skin needed something equally effective but tailored to its unique needs.
Our aim was to create a simple yet powerful routine for morning and night. Our clean, science-backed formulas offer everything young skin needs and nothing it doesn’t.
Your debut collection features six essential products designed to support skin health from morning to night. How did you determine which products were truly necessary for an effective, balanced skincare routine? How did you want your products to differ from those already available on shelves?
We focused on creating a back-to-basics skincare line as we want Lana Banana to be the antidote to overhyped, overcomplicated skincare. Instead of creating a line of products with harsh actives and unnecessary fillers, we focused on skin-loving ingredients that actually work. Our six essentials are all about supporting the skin barrier and tackling real youth skin concerns like acne, oiliness, sensitivity, and redness.
While many brands push complex routines and trend-driven formulas, we kept it simple yet powerful. Lana Banana offers a no-nonsense approach to skincare, delivering healthy, resilient, and glowing skin through a routine that’s easy to follow and genuinely effective.

Modern skincare can often feel overwhelming, with lengthy routines and excessive ingredients. How does Lana Banana challenge the industry norm, and what do you hope to change about the way people approach skincare?
Beyond simplifying skincare, we want to instil good habits from a young age. Taking care of your skin early sets the foundation for long-term skin health and resilience. Instead of constantly chasing new trends or overloading the skin with harsh actives, we encourage consistency and balance as the approach to keep young skin strong now and healthy in future years.
With the rise of ‘clean beauty’, there is often debate about what that truly means. How does Lana Banana define ‘clean skincare’, and how do you ensure that your products deliver results without unnecessary additives or fillers?
We swap harsh chemicals for gentle anti-inflammatories, vitamins, and skin-identical ingredients that work with the skin’s natural anatomy, boosting skin immunity, strengthening the barrier and supporting healing. Every product is designed to be effective yet gentle for sensitive skin types.
Our formulas are also free from animal cruelty, sulphates, parabens, silicones, artificial colour, and artificial fragrance.
Who is Lana Banana Skincare designed for? Is there an ideal audience or demographic that would benefit most from the range, and what kind of skincare concerns or lifestyles are your products specifically catering for?
Anyone who is looking for simple, effective, and skin-loving products without the confusion of overcomplicated routines! While it’s perfect for youthful skin, anyone looking to support their skin barrier, especially for those with sensitivity or who are easily irritated or reactive skin will benefit from our Lana Bana routines.
Now that Lana Banana Skincare has launched, what has the response been like? Have there been any standout moments or feedback that reaffirmed your vision for the brand?
We were quietly confident we were able to fill a gap in the market with Lana Banana and customers are already sharing their stories with us. The most common story we hear is that our customers wished they had our products when they were younger, as the only solutions available at the time damaged their skin more than it helped (hello, a certain scrub in particular!)
What’s been especially rewarding is hearing from people of all genders and ages who have found relief in our products. Whether they’re teens dealing with acne or adults with sensitive skin, the feedback has been humbling for Dr Joseph and I. We’ve also heard from kids and teens struggling with skin-related insecurity, and knowing our products help them feel more confident and comfortable in their own skin means everything.
