Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel is one of Sydney’s most iconic harbourside hotels and it isn’t hard to see why. We recently enjoyed the pleasures of this waterside oasis and were treated to nothing but holiday feels with jaw-dropping views of the city skyline.

It was the ultimate laid back eastern staycation.

Our day started with faint sounds of crashing waves as the sea breezes through the balcony doors, ending with a glass of wine overlooking the eternally golden sunset views. 

We went En-route, to enjoy one of the boutiques thirty-two rooms, each of which took inspiration from its unique location and endless blue skies on the harbour.

With pops of nautical blues throughout our Harbour Loft Room, the space is reminiscent of a classic yacht club. Boasting wide-open doors that played host to those aforementioned views. 

The Harbour Loft Room comfortably fits four, making it easy to pick our own spot to cosy up in. For those who appreciate an open-living style and the tranquillity of your own space whilst away, here you’re welcomed to inviting large couches, the sound of ocean breezes in the background for afternoon spent nose deep in a book.

For those who prefer an afternoon tipple, join the restaurant and bar directly downstairs to mellow-out to whilst enjoying laid back beach tunes providing the soundtrack to your stay. 

But if you’re like us and prefer the comfort of your own room, grab a bottle of vino from your in-room mini bar and put your feet up to take in the postcard panoramic views or enjoy people watching from your balcony. 

Be sure to enjoy Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel’s Beach Club whilst visiting,  it’s a venue that pulls crowds throughout the year with its tiered levels, numerous bars and colourful umbrellas that scream ‘I’m on vacation’.

For breakfast on the weekends, you’ll find the restaurant open downstairs, during the week order yourself a takeaway coffee and something to eat from the kiosk and head down to the water to take in the calmness of the harbour.

Afternoons at Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel are for kicking back in the courtyard, taking in those picturesque views, enjoying signature cocktails and losing track of time as the afternoon turns into dusk. Keep a seat for dinner and order a selection of fresh seafood from the menu to really complete your day. 

Our Tip: Order the Bucket of Peeled Australian Tiger Prawns, Prawn & Zucchini Tagliatelle and the Burrata Caprese.
