Get through lockdown like royalty

As I write this we’re on our last remaining days of Winter and the end of 2021 is feeling insight.

Winter came and left us in what feels like a blink of an eye, but for most of us, we’re still here, fingers crossed we wake up in 2022 with everything back to normal again. However, with that said and done, there are still a lot of things for us to look forward to in the meantime this month including those longer, warmer days and a summer of freedom almost within reach.

Hopeful for our last month of lockdown, here’s our round-up of things to Eat & Sip over the month of September to get you through, enjoy!

Scapegrace Black X Box Bar Masterclass

Whilst a drink at a bar is out of reach for most of us across Australia, that doesn’t necessarily mean our cravings are any less (possibly, even more, am I an alcholic? Not sure).

Thankfully, Box Bar and The Fox Hole have come together to develop Australia’s first dedicated digital bar, having recently announced their exclusive partnership with Scapegrace.

Gin fans will be familiar with Scapegrape as the worlds first naturally black gin. To learn all about Scapegrace Black, join an exclusive BlackBox masterclass this Saturday, September 4th August at 4 pm, hosted by James (Box Bar’s Chief Experience Officer) and Mikey (Scapegrace Ambassador and Creator).

FELLR

Seltzers take us back to the summer of 2020 and it’s undoubtedly going to be the drink in everyone’s hands this year. With dizzying ‘Seltzer’ options available at your local bottle shop we know it can leave you slightly paralysed when standing in front of the fridge.

One brand we’re seeing everywhere is FELLR, like many start-up stories, Co-Founders and seasoned drinks marketers Andy Skora and Will Morgan inspired by the Australian summer and laidback lifestyle, they soon launched Fellr to the market in July 2020.

This month we can expect a fourth flavour addition – Passionfruit Seltzer. Reminiscent of family barbeques and nostalgic summer beach days. The fresh taste is complemented with crisp hints of citrus ending with a smooth, dry finish.

Patrick of Coonawarra rebrand

There’s a shift in direction happening over at Patrick of Coonawarra. The 17-year-old family business has just announced the launch of its rebrand through the unveiling of its new Méthode Range.

The new Méthode Range consists of two styles of Cabernet Sauvignon and a Riesling, inspired by a love of these two varieties and a willingness to “Move beyond any preconceived ideas of what these varieties could do.”, says Chief Wine Maker Luke Tocaciu. Both challenging wine tradition with their modern interpretation of the classic.

The rebrand and the new Méthode Range, in particular, celebrate Luke Tocaciu’s fresh influence and innovative edge, outlining the shift in direction and style originally introduced by Luke’s late father, Patrick.

 Diplomático

It’s a spirit that can take our cocktail game to the next level, although many of us have never even considered Rum when stocking our bar carts. In recent years, Rum has seen a rise in popularity, it is, however (for us) very unfamiliar territory.

Next time you’re looking at rum options, look no further than Diplomatico. A rum that’s highly regarded throughout the world by rum lovers and connoisseurs. The super-premium Venezuelan Rum is made from sugarcane honey and has aged for 12 years. Serve neat (without or without ice) honestly, it’s just a good bottle to have on hand when you’re making cocktails.

Not only famous for its taste (and awards), Diplomático is one of the only liquor companies, globally, to have earned the ISO 14001 certification, a prestigious recognition for companies delivering on their environmental responsibility.

Diplomático is available from $104.99 at all major bottle shops and all good independent liquor retailers.
