The minimalist lifestyle has been gaining some traction for some time now and thanks to the likes of key influential media personalities and brands – the focus of minimalism has moved past decluttering our homes into our beauty cupboards and closets. Whether you’ve been influenced by Marie Kondo or e-comm stores like The Undone, it’s no secret that many of us are editing down our closets.
We know we’re guilty of filling our wardrobes with fast fashion, low-quality items but we’ve been on a mission to change that into a more “sustainable” mindset – that being shop high-quality pieces that are timeless. Scroll on as we chat to Brand Manager, Toni He from curated, luxury staple brand Friend Of Audrey about investing in key wardrobe pieces and elevated staples that last.
CAPSULE WARDROBE & ELEVATED STAPLES EXPLAINED
Toni He explains, “A capsule wardrobe is a collection of key pieces that you really need. The core pieces that are interchangeable and primarily composed of black, white and neutrals. Once you have your essentials locked in, you can then layer with colours or fun accessories.
(Elevated staples are) The foundations of your wardrobe that will never go out of style. Invest in high-quality staples and they will last you year after year.”
Does this mean we cannot wear colour?
“Absolutely not! Colours are a fun element to inject into your everyday wardrobe. You can opt for a minimal outfit with neutral tones, or inject pops of colour with shoes, accessories, or a fun bag.”

“Understanding your body shape and knowing what suits you is the key to building a capsule wardrobe. We are all different, and we should embrace our individuality. Understanding the silhouettes that flatter our figure will ensure the pieces are well loved and can be worn time and time again.”
