Call it my fascination with ballet style streetwear or perhaps it’s my indecisiveness when it comes to hot/cold dressing that makes me low-key obsessed with this new micro trend. Either way, my new favourite winter obsession takes shape as this season must-have: The Shrug — better yet, Shrug Knits.

I’ve been keeping a keen eye on this Instagram ‘It’ piece with the countless saves to prove it, and I am confident it is this winter that calls for exactly the time to embrace the Shrug movement.

After all, winter really is all about layering — more specifically — layering done well but it’s the limitless styling possibilities of the Shrug, a.k.a bolero, a.k.a arm warmers that really takes the fashion cake. I mean when was the last time you tried to layer your everyday jewellery over a turtle neck?  The Shrug can be the vessel to showcasing your favourite bralette during the day or it can give new life to your seasonal strappy top collection with a new approach to crafty layering.
