It’s that fabulous time of year again, the time of year the city is covered in glitter, sparkles and rainbow coloured posters. There’s excitement in the air as Sydney celebrates love, individuality, diversity and the LGBTQI+ community.
Although coming together and celebrating may look a little different this year, this celebration of love will still very much be the same at heart.
Sydney’s Mardi Gras Festival for 2021 kicked off on Friday, February 19 and runs until Sunday, March 7 with a schedule that is jam-packed full of sequined and sparkly events. The main event is taking a detour away from it’s home on Oxford Street to the Sydney Cricket Ground on Saturday, March 6.
Like every other year, there will be some serious colourful bling along with Absolut’s Limited Edition Rainbow Bottle. As a supporting partner for Mardi Gras, they’ve launched a Show All Your Colours campaign – which inspires and encourages people to be their true selves by promoting and celebrating acceptance and diversity across Australia.
This year the Limited Edition has made a comeback with a cause, from every bottle sold $5 will be donated to a range of LGBTIQA+ charities in regional and rural Australia.
Whether you’re heading out or celebrating at home Absoult will make your celebrations all the more fabulous.
In the name of love, Merivale and Absolut have joined forces to put together a fabulous calendar of events along with a signature cocktail for the celebrations. Treat yourself to an Absolut Banger from a number of the Merivale venues to slip you into party mode. It’s a delicious mix of Absolut Lime, Lillet Blanc, passionfruit and granny smith apple.
For those celebrating at home, try the Absolut Queen Beach cocktail, a drink that is guaranteed to get your party going.
