Nostalgia, Polka Dots and Maximalism: Our Favourite Bits of Newness to Hit Paris Fashion Week

C'est dans la boîte!

For another year, Paris Fashion Week has come and gone. All the glitz, glamour, newness, and classics have hit our screens and made a splash in our algorithms. From maximalist textures to polka-dot designs, bright and bold colourways outshining neutrals, and even the renaissance of frills, we’re seeing more eccentric styles pave their way into the mainstream than ever before – and we’re all about it.

For our wrap-up on what’s new and now this Paris Fashion Week, keep reading below.

Jean Paul Gaultier’s ode to the past

Debuting their first collection, “JUNIOR”, Duran Lantink for Jean Paul Gaultier showcased a youthful, refined, and interpretive display of modern fashion, set to launch Jean Paul Gaultier into its next era. Paying homage to the Junior Gaultier line (1988-1994), originally known for is rebellious, club-inspired aesthetic, Lantink’s contemporary take on the collection focused on distorting and twisting our familiar expression of fashion, morphing the designs into a bold new legacy and direction for the brand. From optical illusion stripe work to 3D tattoo mesh, maximalist jewelry, and dysmorphic tailoring contoured to highlight certain parts of the body, the collection was a creative rebirth and declaration of freedom for Lantink and Jean Paul Gaultier into the 21st Century.

Sleek low ponytails are always in with Victoria Beckham

Beyond the runway, we’re invested in the styles making waves behind the curtain, and Victoria Beckam showed us that the slick-back hair trend isn’t going away anytime soon. Teaming up with lead hairstylist Anthony Turner, Victoria Beckhams 2026 Collection saw the ultimate effortless chic low ponytail sported down the runway, a look inspired by the styles from Sofia Coppola’s ‘The Virgin Suicides’, perfectly suiting the designs’ tailored elegance. The look was achieved using ghd’s Chronos Max styler and set in place with Wella Professionals’ Ultimate Repair and Ultimate Smooth range, a match made in heaven. Designed for showtime and suited for all-day wear, the combo has been praised by Turner for its ease and versatility. The best part? It’s just as easy to recreate at home.

Nailing both the 9-5 and the 5-9 with Christopher Esber

One of the only Australian designers to show at Paris Fashion Week, Christopher Esber made a splash with their romanticised take on classic workwear and after-hours chic, combining the two to create a dreamy wardrobe anytime of day. Taking inspiration from the tailored suits and structure that define the work day, the range turns it up a notch with pops of bold colour and exposed mid-riffs that we see outside the office. The effortless mix of the two styles signals a bold redirection for the brand, and one that we’ll be following closely in the years to come.

Punk is not dead, it’s just well dressed in Ann Demeulemeester

With Wednesday star and TikTok viral ‘scream-Queen’ Jenna Ortega front row, there’s no better way to usher in the era of timeless, edgy fashion than Ann Demeulemeester Fall 2025 collection. Presented by Creative Director Stefano Gallici, the range draws inspiration from his childhood dreams in a modern fusion of romance and punk. With pops of pink, notes of studs and frills so long they make their own entrance, the range proves that edgy, punk rock style is indeed timeless, and won’t be going away anytime soon.

Calm is in the Chaos with Vivienne Westwood

Never one for neutral, simple aesthetics, Vivienne Westwood’s SS26 line-up blended colourful styles with busy textures for a range that truly spoke to the maximalist era. Brought to life by Andreas Kronthaler, who has helmed the house since 2022, the collection was an homage to the brand’s iconic eccentric design style that famously placed beauty at the centre of chaos. From chunky necklaces branded ‘CHAOS’ to skin-tight corsets, ruffled feathers that’ll make a statement, and bags that hold your life together, every design was a refined celebration of self-expression, rebellion, and the unmissable Westwood edge.
