Each month we’re en-route with Moroccanoil to uncover the hair secrets and how-to guides from friends of the brand so we can share with you exactly how to create effortless hair.

This month we’re en-route with Extra TV and The Voice host, Renee Bargh who let us inside her home so we could chat through how-to achieve her iconic beach waves, career hair tips, and what beauty products she can’t live without.

Read on below.

EN - What are some of the best hair tips you’ve learnt throughout your career?

How to create a beach wave with a hair straightener, not to over wash your hair & the importance of a protector when you’re using heat.

EN - What is one hairstyle that you would live in if you could only choose one?

Beach waves, thankfully the saltwater and surfing pretty much create that.

EN - What three haircare products you cannot live without?

The Moroccanoil Treatment in Light, Perfect Defense and Blonde Perfecting Purple Shampoo.

EN - How do you keep your hair textured with beach waves over a long period of time?

It’s easier if the hair isn’t super clean beforehand and a bit of saltwater also helps. Other than that using the Moroccanoil Dry Texture Spray and Moroccanoil Dry Shampoo Light Tones does the trick

EN - Favourite hair accessory?

I always have a scrunchie on my wrist but other than that the mermade hair waver is super easy to use to get great beach waves in a hurry!

EN - What would you rather?

Air dry or heat style? Air dry

Straightener or curler? Straightener (it’s more versatile and I like the curls it produces)

Scrunchie or claw clip? Scrunchie

Freshly washed hair or dry shampoo? Freshly washed hair

Renee’s Beach Waves

#1. Firstly I washed my hair with the Moroccanoil Blonde Perfecting Purple Shampoo and then let it air dry.

#2. I use the Moroccanoil Perfect Defense and then my hair straightener to create the waves. I start by taking large sections and bend (the hair) in one direction and then the next moving down each section at a time like a wave.

#3. I then spray the Moroccanoil Dry Texture Spray throughout the mid-lengths and end, finishing with a pump of the Moroccanoil Treatment Light on the ends.

EN - One beauty product you cannot live without?

Sunscreen! Right now I’m obsessed with Ultra Violette

EN - Your favourite place in the house?

It’s a tie between the kitchen and the bathroom.

I’m addicted to taking baths and soaking but I also love entertaining and cooking.
