The Local List: Simon Ngo’s Luxe High Tea Guide

When Flow Athletic‘s Simon Ngo isn’t shaping programs, developing instructors or building community across his studios, you’ll find him on the hunt for Sydney’s most luxurious high teas.

With a love for delicate bite-sized treats, beautifully brewed teas and elegant settings, high tea is his favourite way to slow down, switch off from the daily hustle, and reconnect with friends and family. For this edition of The Local List, Simon shares with us his top luxe high tea experiences across the Harbour City.

The Tea House at Crown Sydney

What’s not to love about this Asian-fusion menu? It stays on top of all the current pop-culture trends, with seasonal themed high teas (like the Taylor Swift Eras Tour!), plus it’s got a great champagne package.

Shangri-La Sydney

The high tea here has earned its reputation as the most iconic in Sydney for a reason. Not only for the view, but also the fact that Shangri-La offers midweek wellness spa treatment specials. What better way to end your wellness day with some high tea and bubbles overlooking the view of the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge?

The Langham Sydney

I’m a fan of quirky, but I also love the classic tradition of afternoon tea. You cannot go wrong with The Langham should you wish to feel like a tourist in your own city for a hot minute, whilst embracing the heritage of tea etiquette.

Intercontinental Double Bay, Sydney

The Intercontinental is another venue known for embracing classic luxury. They have a decadent selection of sweet and savoury treats as well as a grand selection of champagne.

QTea at QT Sydney

As a brand, QT is always willing to zig when everyone else is zagging, which is just one of the quirks I love about them. Their themed high teas, such as Adriano Zumbo’s desserts and pastry haven, or the Mad Hatter, will transport you to another world. It creates the perfect escape from this hectic, big-city lifestyle.
