Why You Need To Get Your Cheeks Out
Bring 'em out, bring 'em out
It wasn’t too long ago when I experienced my first awkward moment inside a department store. Some may call it an act of discrimination, while others may call it ignorance. I, however, will never forget it.
One afternoon I went shopping with a friend to find her a foundation, and little did I know that this was a constant struggle for her! Having darker skin meant that it was near impossible for her to find a foundation suitable to her skin tone in Australian department stores and the only time she could find her shade was by shopping when travelling overseas.
This lack of variety, obvious customer frustrations and their subsequent demand for more are how brands like Fenty Beauty were born.
Buying a blush or a bronzer is just like finding the right shade of foundation. You need to consider your skin’s undertone. “I think people generally have trouble finding the right shade of bronzer. Finding your shade of bronzer works the same way as a foundation – you want to choose based on your undertone,” explains Priscilla Ono, Global Makeup Artist for Fenty Beauty.
Fenty Beauty’s blush range expands over 10 different shades, from purple, pinks and oranges. The texture is extremely buttery and soft, melting into your skin when applied. Don’t be frightened of the darker shades as the colour is sheer, making it easy to build on if needed.

HOW TO WORK OUT YOUR SKINS UNDERTONE?
By looking at the colour of your veins you can determine whether you have a cool, warm or neutral undertone.
Green Veins = Warm Undertone
Blue Veins = Cool Undertone
Neither Green nor Blue = Neutral Undertone
Rule of thumb:
Warm Undertone = Warm-toned blush/bronzer
Cool Undertone = Cool-toned blush/bronzer
Neutral Undertone = Either Cool or Warm tones will suit

Whether you have really fair skin or the deepest of darks, you can be sure you WILL find not only a foundation but your perfect shade of bronzer as well.
I’ve recently fallen in love with cream-based bronzers and blush. They allow me to build up my desired colour and achieve an overall soft dewy look.
“If you’re looking for a more natural finish, I recommend going with a cream bronzer, like the Cheeks Out Cream Bronzer. Both photograph beautifully and are sweat and water-resistant,” tells Priscilla Ono.
Whether you have dry or oily skin, you can incorporate cream-based makeup into your makeup routine.
While Priscilla recommends cream bronzers for people with normal-to-dry skin, as “It melts into your skin and doesn’t really pick up texture. But if you prefer a creamy formula and have oily skin, you can always set it with a setting powder or Invisimatte Blotting Powder to remove some of that excess shine.”
Fenty Beauty’s Cream Bronzer comes in 7 different shades total.
How To Apply?
Don’t be afraid to use your fingers, I find that the warmth from my fingers allows me to easily apply the blush.
To contour, Priscilla explains that if we’re “Using Bronzer to create definition or contour, I recommend a more densely packed brush that gives you control like the Sculpting Bronzer Brush 195.
For an all-over, diffused application requiring a less precise application, I recommend a fluffy brush like the Face Shaping Brush 125.”
The finish? A natural non-greasy glow that will have you looking snatched this summer.
