All The Newness Unveiled At House of Sephora Australia

It's like Christmas for Beauty Lovers.

The House of Sephora—aka the beauty community’s biggest reveal of the year—took place once again, against the incredible backdrop of Ivy, Sydney.

Content creators, HMUA’s, media and industry professionals were invited to peek behind the veil at all the latest releases coming our way from Sephora, and all I can say is BUCKLE UP.

There’s so many luscious goodies coming our way, from delectable bodycare to sunscreen-skincare hybrids and loads of lip oil goodness (PSA: gloss is not leaving anytime soon).

And there’s new brands hitting our shores too! Keep a lookout for the following at your local Sephora in the coming weeks and months:

  • AMIKA: Fresh, fun and ferocious haircare straight from Brooklyn, NYC
  • NUXE: The French pharmacy darling with a focus on naturally-derived ingredients
  • Straand: Scalpcare that won’t leave your hair high and dry
  • Maison Louis Marie: Clean luxury fragrances for the modern-day goddess

I was lucky enough to get amongst all the action — here’s the items I’m eyeing off from the new Sephora releases:

Faux Filler Ultra Shine Lip Gloss
– HUDA BEAUTY

It’s like the Old El Paso of lip products: when you can’t decide between a glass-like gloss or a pigmented AF lipstick, “why not have both?” As the first release from the beauty line since Huda Kattan returned to the throne as CEO (welcome back, queen), it’s straight out of the gates fire. With a genius double-sided doefoot tip for even application, it’s the plumping effect you want from a product, without the spicy tingles.

Mark your calendars – available from March 19 at Sephora Australia

Hair Gloss
– OUAI

In Ouai we trust. Coming in strong with the goods, this new hair gloss is akin to the viral Glaze Sheer Glow that isn’t available in Aus, but with wayyy more benefits (not to mention the chic minimal packaging). Infused with magic like hyaluronic acid and rice water to keep frizz at bay and hydration high, this is going to be your new bestie for glossy shine in-between salon trips.

Huile Prodigieuse Or
– NUXE

Don’t ask me how to pronounce it, just know it’s SO GOOD. The French do no-fuss, highly effective beauty oh-so well, and the whole NUXE line is no exception. Although their products are naturally derived, there’s no compromise on results, especially for those with sensitive skin barriers. The standout here is this divine dry oil which gives the most glistening skin, diffused highlight and shimmering hair. Call me a magpie, but I was mesmerised just watching it twirl its way around the bottle…

Bouncy & Firm Sleeping Mask
– LANEIGE

If it’s good enough for Sydney Sweeney, and can I wake up looking a tenth as good as she, then sign me the heck up. My love affair with sleeping masks runs deep, but the texture of this one was unlike anything I’d experienced in an overnight gel before (hence the applicator freshly dolloped in the photo). It contains a ridiculous amount of peptides for a bouncy complexion, and tiny ‘Hydro-Melt Glow Capsules’ which dissolve on the skin for extra hydration. A literal dream.

Grime Fighter Body Wash
– URBAN JUNGLE

This one receives an honorable mention because it’s technically been out for a little while, but really flew under the radar. It was no wonder the Urban Jungle team were hero’ing it at the Sephora showcase, because it’s peach bliss in a bottle. Coming in a juicy 500mL vessel and packed with apricot seed oil and lactic acid, it’s the everyday essential you’ll love to use—and a far cry from the apricot seed nightmare we all endured in our youth (IYKYK).

Tinted SPF 50+ Lip Balm
– SUN SKILLS

When I tell you that lip balms and oils were THE product of choice at this showcase, I’m not exaggerating. New releases from Fenty Beauty, Tarte, Evereden, Bangn Body and Hudy Beauty meant competition was stiff, but I’m a huge fan of Sun Skills sensitive sunscreen and this new addition instantly won me over. The non-sticky texture was so comfortable, the tint was just the right shade of nude for me, and the scent reminded me of dulce de leche. Good enough to eat (but please don’t).

Coming soon to Sephora Australia

Surrealskin™ Awakening Concealer
– MAKEUP BY MARIO

The last of the most coveted new(ish) releases is the dreamy, creamy concealer by the master that is Mario Dedivanovic. After a realtime makeover in 91% humidity, this caffeine-infused, self-setting formula was seriously impressive, and held up for the rest of the evening. More good news: the brand has a new Australian rep in town, and her #1 priority is restocking the shelves so we can all get our hands on our perfect shade. Rejoice!
