The Latest Homewares Heroes
Elevate your home with the best new homewares finds
Let the sun shine in! I swear I spend the centre of every year frozen solid and waiting for that magical weekend to arrive in October that signals the start of warm weather and long days: daylight savings. It’s definitely a cause for celebration in my household, as we step into the better half of the year. This edition of Homewares Heroes is here to highlight the zesty joys of mid spring.
Once again this is your wrap up of all the best interiors pieces from Australia and abroad, that will make your home sparkle.
The Fred Cushion
Fred Home
Price: $260.00
Fred Home have officially made cushions sexy again. You can almost squish the premium quality velvet through the screen, and aren’t the XL tassels so lush?Available in a rainbow of options to suit any home, these are best served in an assortment of at least three styles for the most enjoyable experience. If I had to pick one though it would have to be this tasselled and sun drenched Yolk yellow number.
S8
Jura
Price: $3,690.00
It’s no secret that I live for a good coffee, and that it has the capacity to entirely make or break my morning. The Jura S8, makes lattes just as good as my local barista, and all from the convenience of my own kitchen. I didn’t really think home coffee machines could match the quality that I am so snobby about, and I have been equally impressed with how simple this one is to clean and maintain. So every morning is a very good morning lately.
Olivia - Rounded Bed Frame
Icon By Design
Price: $2,239.00
When you buy from Icon by Design, you buy for a lifetime. This is because their products are made of solid wood, which will go the distance compared to a cheap veneer, making it a sturdy and sustainable investment, at a surprisingly affordable price. My pick? The gorgeous Olivia, with stunning curved details, carved from a warm honey toned American Oak, which is the perfect base to spend long cruisy Sunday mornings nestled in with a great book.
STAINLESS STEEL SPIRAL HOLDER
Tudes
Price: $64.00 USD
I follow all the coolest interior design pages on instagram so you don’t have to, and lately every man and his dog has this one element in common: a deceptively simple silver spring from über-fashionable Korean brand Tudes. All the cool kids keep the tags attached to identify that they are part of the cult, in the same way that people used to obnoxiously keep swing tags on their sports caps. Would I keep the swing tag on this just to let you know I’m cool? I don’t know, but I have just ordered my own, so ask me when it’s arrived. (Let’s be real I will probably keep it on)

Alarm Flip Clock AL-30
TWEMCO
Price: $250.00
Unless you’re suffering from insomnia, there’s something distinctly satisfying about a clock that physically clicks over, and this Twemco number is no exception. In a rich citrus hue, and vibrant 80s design, this is more than a practical timekeeper, it’s an iconic art object that will smile back at you from the shelf.
Ease Portable Lamp - Light Blue
Living Edge
Price: $385.00
I’m so glad I live in the era of portable electric lamps, they are an instant vibe enhancer, and so easy to move around the house to create coziness wherever you want to be. I especially love these on a dining table while hosting friends, or in any place that’s usually impossible for lamp lighting, like along side an evening picnic in the back yard. This Living Edge design comes in the most delectable shade of pale blue – and has a timeless appeal which will go the distance in your life.
Frank Ocean - Nostalgia, Ultra
Sandgrain Studio
Price: $120.00
The thing that really makes a house a home, is a bit of personality shining through in the form of art on the walls. Sandgrain studios have an excellent range of prints spanning through the realms of cinema, pop culture tv, musicians and even classic cocktails, illustrated in an 80s graphic style, that feels nostalgic yet new. Get the biggest one baby (60x90cm), you deserve it.
Eden Cotton - Soli Set
Sheet Society
Price: $FROM 180.00
The Soli set offers a burst of vibrant sunshine to your bedroom, in a gorgeous pastel colour-way that is sure to strike delight. These are made of the Sheet Society’s gorgeous Eden Cotton, a 400 thread count that’s luxuriously silky soft to the touch. I love the genius invisible zipper on the quilt cover, and that the pillow cases have extra deep fastening flaps… little details that make the whole experience so elevated. But these come with a very serious warning: once you’ve tried them it will be extremely hard to go back to a regular set.
Shoal
ELLISON STUDIOS. for Mejuri
Price: $149.00
UGH WHAT A COLLABORATION! Ellison Studios and Mujuri have greated the most covetable amber glass blob, perfect for resting your weary jewellery or simply admiring on your shelf. It even has an incense holder! It reminds me of tree sap or free pouring maple syrup, and I desperately need one! Available today from the Mejuri store in Sydney, or online via the link to the left. Move fast on this one, as there is only limited stock available.
Slim Aarons: Women
Hardie Grant
Price: $140.00
Forever a classic, this cult coffee table book will transport you to aspirational pool-side 70s LA living in an instant. Slim’s whole ethos was capturing “attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places,” and you’ll be ready to dive right in after reading this. It’s the perfect entrée to set tone for the summer, or to warm your bones a bit if you’re stuck inside on one of the last chilly days.
L'Art de Vivre (ART) Lounge Chair- Recycled Wool Felt
Fomu
Price: $POA
Chairs in some form have been a part of our collective existence for millenia, so it’s always exciting when you see something created that pushes the boundaries, and creates a new spin on something so everyday. I love the unusual lines of this piece, and the wood seam sneaking up into the backrest of the L’Art de Vivre. The perfect statement piece for any livingroom!
Krion walnut and steel draughts set
Brunello Cucinelli at Net-a-Porter
Price: $11,054.00
For those who take games dead seriously, the Brunello Cucinelli is the most elevated checker board I’ve ever seen. Made of Walnut and Krion, a resin-based material that feels like soft stone, and steel-trimmed pieces which fit seamlessly in a concealed second layer. I like the idea of keeping it on display in a premium position, and leaving the chips as they fall after demolishing your chosen opponent each day.
Brilliant Bouquet
Kiko Design
Price: $from 120.00
Kiko Design brings us sunshine in floral form, with their stunning Brilliant Bouquet. I love the punchy, gradient-toned design, and am convinced it’s impossible to be in a bad mood if these are within eyesight.
